AMERICAN WILDLIFE ASSOCIATION - Southwind Outdoors is the exclusive Arkansas-area franchise of the American Wildlife Association, a network of outdoor sportsman's clubs from the Atlantic to the Rockies that share access to private land leases for hunting, fishing, camping. Club members have access to a variety of waterfowl properties across East Arkansas, including White and Arkansas River frontage, flooded rice, milo, corn, and soybean fields, cypress sloughs, flooded timber, lakes and reservoirs. Several of these properties are only a few miles from Bayou Meto and Hurricane Lake Wildlife Management Areas, which helps keep more ducks in the area. Quality deer can also be found on many of our Arkansas properties, most of which are in the Arkansas and White River Deltas. These highly fertile and agricultural areas provide an ample food supply and compliment the Quality Buck Management Program we utilize on some of our more promising units. Minerals, cottonseed and winter wheat on our property inside the Arkansas River Levee have helped produce harvested bucks with inside rack spreads over 18 inches and weights up to 285 lbs. PEACE RIVER WATERFOWLERS - Located in northern Alberta Canada, PRW offers some of the best hunting for Greater Canada Geese anywhere in North America. The area that is hunted is the first agricultural land the geese come upon as they began their migration south. As a general rule the hunting is extremely easy, father and son groups are welcome and very common. Ducks as well as geese are very abundant in the areas which PRW hunts. If you have never hunted waterfowl on dry ground you are in for a real thrill. The season normally runs from the first of September to mid October. Limits are liberal and the daylight is 16-18 hours a day. RETRIEVER LODGE - Retriever Lodge is a duck guiding operation that specializes in small groups. We hunt exclusively on private ground and offer some of the finest rice field and flooded-timber hunting known to this area. We provide the atmosphere of a "buddy hunt" rather than that of a commercial operation. This helps to guarantee an enjoyable hunt, and gives you a true experience of an Arkansas duck hunt. We use a variety of blinds depending on the hunting situation. All are comfortable, safe, and hand-crafted. We use sunken barrel blinds in field hunting. These blinds were designed by Arkansas County natives and are basically "mini pits" that allow you to watch the ducks work and shoot before they have flared. Our guides are young, enthusiastic and experienced. These guides hunt everyday regardless of clientele. They spend hours riding and checking their hunting areas every afternoon. This helps to insure the next morning's hunt will be a success. Retriever Lodge is a newly-constructed lodge, completed in 2006. Located on the banks of Mill Bayou, it is completely secluded and provides a very relaxing atmosphere. We can accommodate up to 16 guests per night, and everything is first class. You can enjoy a pool table, poker table, full bar, and big screen television. Most of our hunting areas are within minutes of the lodge. Hunt, meals, lodging and liquor $500.00. Morning hunts only (no lodging)$225.00. *All rates are per person per day. There is a 4 person group minimum* Contact Steven (870) 830-3185 or Damon (870) 830-1047-cell (870) 946-3588-office.
