Grant Program

In an effort to foster innovative teaching in the areas of mathematics and measurement while enhancing student achievement, Lennox Industries announces a mathematics and measurement classroom grant program. The grant program will be administered by the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce Educational Foundation.

Program Purpose- To increase cooperation between Lennox Industries and Stuttgart Schools, both public and private, by providing funds to improve skills based teaching in the areas of mathematics and measurement.

Project Guidelines- The following guidelines and restrictions apply to the Lennox Mathematics and Measurement Classroom Grant program:

* Mathematics and Measurement grants are available to all classroom teachers in each subject area. The activities must involve improving mathematics and measurement skills.

* Mini grant funds may be used to purchase materials to improve mathematics and measurement skills. Examples of such materials include: kits for mathematics and measurement, computer software that engages students in mathematics and measurement activities, hands on classroom activities, and teacher generated activities.

* Equipment and/or field trips may be ONE COMPONENT of a well planned proposal.

* Teachers awarded a Mathematics and Measurement mini grant must submit a final report at the end of the project. The report should indicate the effect the program had on teaching mathematics and measurement skills, and student performance.
